background: The outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) produced by Gram-negative bacteria can modulate the immune system and have great potentials for bacterial vaccine development. results: A highly active Acinetobacter baumannii phage lysin, LysP53, can stimulate the production of OMVs after interacting with A. baumannii, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella.
